Synopsis[]
Following the "Big Bang", metahumans or "Bang Babies" have begun to appear across Dakota. Many seem antagonistic, whether or not they want to be. This causes uncertainty amongst the civilians. Notable Quotes[]
Trivia[]
- While the news reports on the mutations, there is no mention of any deaths. In contrast, the original Static comic explicitly states that more people died from the Big Bang than were mutated. This would have explained why Wade and other gang bangers from Episode 01 are never seen or mentioned again throughout the animated series.
- A member of F-Stop's former gang can be seen running away when Hotstreak attacks the Square. He was at the Big Bang and began to visibly mutate in Episode 1. It is likely that the character's model was just used to fill the background extras.
- When Virgil compares his blood to Richie's, they are the same. Initially, this would imply that the gas hadn't radically altered Virgil's biology. However, considering the retcon that occurs in Gear, it can be reinterpreted as a sign that Richie is also a Bang Baby.
- Virgil seems to break the fourth wall at one point. After York traps him in a tube which he can't escape, Virgil asks "What else could go wrong?" York proceeds to release a gas into the airtight tube. Virgil coughs before looking toward the audience and saying, "I had to ask".

Mistakes/Inconsistencies[]
- On the news, victims of the Big Bang are referred to as mutants. Virgil, finding this term degrading, posits the term "meta-humans" as an alternative. In spite of this, the term is later repeated by his father who wasn't there when it was first used.
- Likewise, Richie was the first to use the term "Bang Baby", yet it is inexplicably repeated by Mr Hawkins later on and becomes the main term used to refer to meta-humans.
