You're not Ebon. You're some kind of freak! Hey, I can't ignite!

Hotstreak, in Romeo in the Mix

Francis "F-Stop" Stone, known more commonly as Hotstreak, is one of the gang members who becomes a Bang-Baby with the power to manipulate fire and Static's first rival after being beaten up by him and his gang members before they exposed to the Big Bang gas.

Physical Appearance[]

Francis appears to have a short red orange hair with three yellow streaks. He wears a red short-sleeved shirt which is tuck into his boxers, olive green pants with a green belt to his waist and black and white Converse-esque sneakers. In the episode "She-Bang" where he was defeated by She-Bang, who pulled off his pants and threw him into the water fountain, the boxers he wears are shown to have polka dots on them.

Personality[]

Francis has a horrible temper. Even with mandated anger management therapy, he remains hot-headed and destructive throughout the series. It seems that his temper drives most of his criminal actions, though he admits that he genuinely likes to blow stuff up.

Despite his evidently cantankerous traits, Francis is capable of cooperating with others (provided they share his goals and his well-being isn't in jeopardy). This is seen in his interactions with the Joker, Meta Breed, Meta Men and even Static. He's also shown to have a somewhat caring side. In She-Back!, when he accidentally hits Talon, he grows concerned and goes over to help her up. Likewise, in No Man's an Island, he asks if Static's "stupid leg" was okay and, despite running off when they were attacked, he returns with Alva, getting the soldiers to stand down.

Francis is also revealed to have some hidden depths. In Episode 45, he admits he once spent two years in a hospital. As a result, he has a deep fear of them. He's also shown to be a Lil'Romeo fanboy, asking for his autograph in Episode 34.

Powers and Abilities[]

In the animated series, Hotstreak's powers are exclusively the ability to manipulate fire. His powers seem to highlight the fact that Hotstreak has a short-fused mentality and a fiery temper.

Hotstreak's ability to control fire isn't limited to just throwing fireballs:

In "Aftershock," Hotstreak harnesses his pyrokinesis to fly rocket-style; in that same episode, Hotstreak uses his fire power to channel enough flame to act as a barrier to protect himself from Static's barrage of debris in the city park. In "Sunspots" Hotstreak creates a 'firewall' to surround Dakota Union High School when he relapses back into his old 'habits' of using his powers; in that same episode, during the climax, Hotstreak demonstrates the ability to use fiery constructs by creating a sword-shaped fiery construct to use on a de-powered Static before Static douses him with a watertank full of water. In "The Big Leagues," Hot-Streak can generate and channel fire out of his hands, eyes and mouth. In "No Man's an Island," Hotstreak harnesses enough of his meta-human pyrokinetic energy in conjunction with Static's to power a machine to restore Edwin Alva Jr. from his stone form back to life.

History & Synopsis[]

History[]

Hotstreak (Francis Stone/Martin Scaponi/F-Stop/Biz Money 8) was one of the gang members at the docks when the Big Bang occurred. After being exposed to the gas, Francis Stone became Hotstreak. His powers added to his already hot-headedness by giving him the ability to create and shoot blasts of fire. His weakness, however, is when he gets washed with water or being extinguished with fire extinguishers.

Hotstreak is one of Static’s very first rivals, giving him a challenge nearly every time they meet.

When Dr. Todd’s Bang Baby cure was transforming them back into humans, Ebon staged a plan to get the last vial of Bang Baby gas and stage another “Big Bang”, one that would potentially create more Bang Babies than the first one.

Ebon and Hotstreak fought over the final vial of gas and eventually became one giant bang baby—throwing shadows and fire all over Dakota’s docks. With Static and Gear being the only two remaining Bang Babies, they were able to take down Ebon and Hotstreak—but whether they’re still lurking somewhere in Dakota’s waters is unknown.

  • In Aftershock, Frieda implies Francis had been showing antisocial behaviors since second grade. It is possible he has a legitimate behavioral disorder that makes him act out.
